Russia claims ukraine crisis: We are not preparing for attack,

Like the West, Russia's media is also closely monitoring fears of a conflict in Ukraine. However, the Kremlin-controlled media has a different story about the country that started this conflict.

Russia's media is projecting ukraine's image as an aggressive country that is preparing to launch an unprovoked attack on areas controlled by Moscow-backed separatists.

Pro-Kremlin media say the Kiev government is being provoked by Western countries that hate Russia.

The Kremlin media may be ridiculing the fears of Russia's attack on Ukraine, but the media's messages here are being designed in such a way that it can be explained to the public that even if Russia attacks, it would be a completely correct move.

Accusations against Ukraine

For the media of the Kremlin, Ukraine is a country full of many evils. For years, the Kremlin's media has accused the Kiev government of nazi leanings and campaigning to persecute russian-speaking people.

So the recent accusation by the Kremlin media against Ukraine that it could carry out unprovoked attacks on civilians living in rebel-held parts of the Donbass region is nothing new for Russian audiences.

Some separatists living in east Ukraine with moscow's support have also been making similar allegations. For example, Dennis Pashlin, the main rebel leader of the so-called Donesk People's Republic, came to the Russian news channel and said that Kiev had deployed all the invading forces of the Ukrainian army to the region as part of preparation for the attack.

Edouard Basurin, another separatist in the Donesk region, was shown on TV alleging that Ukraine was preparing to target basic facilities for civilians.

It is the result of these allegations that now well-known people are demanding Russia's intervention.

On January 26, major TV channels broadcast an appeal from Andre Turchak, a key member of the United Russia Party.

In the appeal, Andre said, "Citizens living in peace are being slaughtered. At the same time, the Western country is instigating the Ukrainian government to launch a direct offensive in the Donbass. In such a situation, Russia should provide the necessary help to the people of Luhansk and Donesk by giving them some special types of weapons."

Amid russian media's claims of an attack from Ukraine, US officials have warned that Russia is probably preparing for a 'false flag operation' to justify its military attack in Ukraine. A false flag operation is called campaigns that completely hide the identity of the executor and the responsibility is put on someone else.

The threat from Russia is "imaginary"

The Kremlin's state media also denies that Russia is aligned with separatist groups in eastern Ukraine. The media here justifies Ukraine's 2014 occupation of Crimea, projecting it as a "unitaryization" of Russian territory.
